Case Study - Radix Systems Ltd

Radix Systems,, design and manufacture complete opto-electronic sorting and inspection solutions for the food, plastics and related industries. Based in Winchester and founded in 1988, Radix have installed complete machines and turnkey systems around the world.  The company has developed world class products, and Radix installations throughout Europe are helping large and small companies to maintain their market leader positions.

In September of 2009, Radix identified a need to update their Client Contacts database.  Originally developed in Microsoft Access 97 by a Radix employee, the system was out of date and no longer manageable.  Radix's Sales Manager, Nick Revels, approached Burningsuit Ltd with the objective of evaluating Outlook Business Contact Manager as a potential alternative Client Contact system.  Burningsuit Ltd had already helped a number of other companies move over to Business Contact Manager through consultancy and comprehensive training and Nick Revels was keen to take advantage of their expertise in this system.

After a number of consultations with Stuart Box, director of Burningsuit Ltd, it was agreed that Business Contact Manager could do all that Radix wanted from a Contacts database, and more. A migration strategy for their existing Access data was planned and executed by Burningsuit and all their existing contact records were successfully imported into Business Contact Manager.  Burningsuit then oversaw the installation of Business Contact Manager after which a number of targeted training days with all the Radix staff were held.
